For the patient that grinds their teeth, an injection of Botox can relax the muscles used for grinding and put this habit on pause for months. This kind of injection can also alleviate temporomandibular disorder (TMD) resulting from teeth grinding.
Other patients are interested in Botox for its aesthetic benefits. When we design an improved smile for a patient, we can add in injections to smooth out wrinkles around the eyes or on the forehead and the small creases in the upper or lower lips.
