In some dental offices, it is necessary for patients to switch to another dentist’s office when oral surgery is needed. Dr. Gagan Sandhu has trained on advanced dental surgery procedures so nearly every surgical need can be completed in our office, including:
Simple and Complex Extractions
Dr. Sandhu is highly qualified to extract teeth that can’t be saved or teeth that are impacted, such as third molars (wisdom teeth). His gentle touch and care for the patient make this procedure as tolerable as possible. He also uses special techniques to improve healing and reduce post-surgical pain.
Sinus Lift
A sinus lift is provided when a dental implant is to be placed in the upper portion of the jaw. A certain depth of bone is needed to ensure that the implant will not pierce the sinuses. Thickening this bone is called a “sinus lift” because it raises the floor of the sinus. Dr. Sandhu is well-qualified to perform sinus lifts.
Dental Implants
Placement of titanium implants is a surgical procedure. Dr. Sandhu can perform the entirety of the dental implant procedure and restoration (adding the replacement tooth) in his office.
Bone Augmentation
For a successful dental implant, the bone in the jaw needs to be strong and dense enough to support the implant. When bone loss has occurred, Dr. Sandhu can augment the bone to enable a dental implant to be successful.
