TMJ/TMD

TMJ/TMD

TMJ refers to the temporomandibular joint located directly in front of the ear. This joint is where the lower jaw fits into the skull. This joint can become inflamed, misaligned or arthritic. As a result, a patient with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) can suffer facial, neck or head pain. It may become difficult to open or shut the jaw fully and the jaw could even lock into place.

With proper diagnosis and treatment, we can help a patient overcome TMD and eliminate the pain associated with this problem. If you suffer from jaw, face or neck pain that is hard to diagnose, please consult with us.
